BOTTOMLINE:

If I was buying a travel camera today it would be a tough call between this and Sony’s AR7II.  Excellent image quality.  Sensor performs better than just about anything out there for still images in good and poor lighting (notably without creating a huge stockpile of unnecessarily large files on your computer).  Beautiful looking and handling.  Directly accessible features/functions via high quality machined dials and buttons.  APS-C sensor size also means a significantly smaller/lighter lens bag without sacrificing much at all in terms of image quality.  Just flat out fun to use and easier than most DSLR’s to travel with due to it’s diminutive size.  Not great for video yet (if that’s a critical part of your shooting), so probably not the camera for you unless you’re content bringing a GoPro or smartphone along for that more or less dedicated purpose.
